As many of you may know, I was the PP for the ILP last year. During that time, I managed to a large degree the party forums. So I understand that activity can be a huge issue as far as ensuring a forum remains healthy. Some of the things I would recommend for assisting in this, which I am willing to do, is to post weekly (or some increment of days) articles with a certain flavour such as the following. A forum Topic competition. Whoever writes the most interesting article on said topic wins said prize. Voted on my the forum users. Forum post competition. Said amount of people win said prize based on their participation. A forum game competition. (as has been already implemented) The most important thing here is to keep these things in the media and near the top of the public eye. So voting them up is important Things such as this can help to raise activity and did show some success when i implemented them. It is just a matter of perseverance. As I have said, I am willing to take this duty on and will happily do so because it potentially means eIreland can become a more active and interesting place. Feel free to comment and I will be interested to hear your take on this issue.

I'm all for anyone looking for ways to keep interest in the university going. I did something similar last week, look for the Kitten Cannon thread in the Student Union section. It got a couple of people to join and to post and to hopefully look around to see what the university is about.

Indeed, that was what I made reference to and that worked quite nicely. In terms of forum prizes however, that does require some thinking in regards to the logistics of having those prize on hand. If we are in favor of this, Im sure I could write an article tonight. For now, I am in favor of a topic of the week notion because I think it could appeal. However the risk here is that no one is that interested. I think the main thing I would like to establish is that if i am allowed to make such contributions because after all, it was you and some others that made the majority of this possible in the first place.
edit 1. A university IRC chat could be interesting? Allow for easier communication between people and more casual conversation.
